This is funny for numerous reasons. First and foremost, I’m not even a member of TEAM fucking NEWBURY. I don’t even live in Newbury anymore; though I did come back just yesterday to spend Christmas with family, which makes the timing of this odd.
Also, Newbury is not a student town. Granted, most universities in the UK have either broken up or are about to for Christmas break (which probably explains the timing), but even so, student nights in non-student towns don’t sound like particularly profitable ventures. No more profitable than any other club night, at least.
Also, they don’t even mention the venue until the very end. Until the last paragraph — and I very nearly didn’t read that far — it sounded like Liquid (a shitty nightclub) was the venue.
Also, “Dirtiest indie this side of the Thames”. Please.
