Assorted bullshit about video games, language, music, and some other unabashedly personal shit. And maybe some stuff that's kind of funny? I don't know. I just don't fucking know, alright? Would you give me a fucking break? Jesus, Mom.

Gradius III (1991)
Funny story: I didn’t actually want to post this today. I have a game of this in progress at the moment (thank you, SNES emulator save states), and I wanted the screenshot to reflect my high score, which is a personal best (haven’t lost a life yet!), but I didn’t get round to finishing the game before the queue caught up with me.
In case it wasn’t obvious, I love this game, and shmups in general. It was the only game I played with any regularity on an actual SNES, except for R-Type maybe, and is still the only reason I keep an emulator handy. (Except for the Parodius series, which are Gradius parodies with penguins and kittens and that sort of frivolity.) I find it a little easy nowadays, but it’s still one of my faves.
Hint: Hit A enough times in quick succession on the options screen to unlock arcade mode.
